Long Term Memory Archives

Trust the Darkness!

OK! Here we go! Last week my desktop computer, which has my whole life on it, started shutting down on its own whenever it decided it wanted to! I rushed to backup every file I had but didn’t get finished since the darn computer shut down every few minutes. Thought I would lose everything including all my speeches, videos, book notes, etc.

I called the computer geeks right away and they (the experts) come out to our country farm (a long way from everywhere)-I tell him the problem-and his first words are “Uh Oh! That’s a new one.” Something you never want to hear! He thought it might be the motherboard (it wasn’t), maybe the power supply(it wasn’t) overheating (it wasn’t) hmmmmmm. He had no solution but to say I should send it back to the factory for 2-3 months(Gateway) for analysis. Ugh!

Where Does Success Begin?

Over the last 9 years, I have read an average of about 30 pages/day from books and brain research studies and reports on the function and fitness of the human brain. If you do the math, that’s over 98,000 pages to date!

Many times I am asked at my speeches, seminars, and presentations, what is the one most important thing you have learned that can help us achieve more and be more successful?

The answer: No matter what field of endeavor you choose and strive for success and achievement, the most urgent and important step is to first learn how your brain works, and then learn to make your brain work better!

Give Your Brain Permission!

If you are working toward enormous goals-make sure you give your brain permission to want what you want.

Many people have a set of self-limiting neurode patterns (memories) that keep firing from your past negative history and they subconsciously keep you from going for your goals. Overcome that by Innerstates (affirmations) repeated for 30 days+ that tell you its OK to want more than you have!

Otherwise, you’ll never have enough gas for your engines to get to your goals. Give yourself permission!

Water, Water Everywhere!

About 70% of the human body is made up of water. Nowhere is this more important than your brain. Brain scientists now know that impulses(messages) in your brain are carried across the millions of synapses as chemical particals called neurotransmitters rather than an electrical “spark” as was once thought.

If you are dehydrated (you can become 10% dehydrated in just 15 minutes on a 90+ degree day of summer) up to 50% of these message carriers do not successfully cross your synapses. That means you are not firing on but about half of the info you should have!

That’s not safe and your decisions are not as smart as they should be. So stay fully hydrated all day every day by always having water within arms reach and by drinking more water than you think you need.

Your brain will thank you for it with safer movements and better decisions!

CEO Space Networking and Your Brain

First session for CEOSpace huge networking event here in Nevada last night.

When you are networking and trying to make great new connections to help your business, and you jump from person to person quickly-TAKE A DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER!

Your brain’s short term memory system fires a neurode pattern for only 45 seconds on average. So if you wait to write it down or worse yet, you think you will remember and do it later…tick-tock….pooof!

In 45 seconds its gone. After each contact, before the next, put the important info on your recorder! Your brain and your business will thank you. You can see much more on this topic in our second book,
